Black and white images can be striking and engaging and they hold a timeless quality. There is no distraction of colour to helo viewers focus on other aspects in a photograph, so composition, textures and shapes are more important to achieve a powerful black and white image.
The fundamentals of photography will get you so far but there are some additional techniques that you can use to help you achieve an outstanding black and white image. This course will teach you those techniques.
We will visit a Lake District location to capture some new images, concentrating on edges for shapes, clouds and water. Then we will work in the studio to process the images to master the practices needed to create a spectacular black and white image.
