The longer summer days mean we have long evenings to capture stunning sunsets. The rich colours, dramatic lighting and strong shapes they offer can produce stunning shots with little need for much effort or clever planning from you.

However, you might find that your camera often captures pale imitations of the sunsets you see with your naked eye. Somehow, the intensity of the colours may have been lost, or the composition might not work.

This course will help you get the most from a spectacular sunset, by composing your shots properly and adjusting the camera settings to make the most of the colours.

The sunset workshops are usually held on the shores of a lake or tarn, to get the most of the colours and reflections.

There will be time for individual tuition and to pursue your own particular interests. The group will be small and limited to six places.

Participants should bring:

• A DSLR or bridge camera
• A tripod
• Extra memory cards and spare batteries.
• Suitable warm clothing and footwear *
• Filters (but I have set available for your use)
• Refreshments

* For a coast workshop it is strongly advised that you wear wellington boots. Also bringing a mat or large bin bag to put on the sand before you put your camera bag down.
